TT @ 50 Ministerial Committee
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Independence, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has planned a series of events to recognize our many achievements as a nation. The initiatives are designed to honour those who have contributed to our many successes, to pay tribute to our rich diverse cultural forms, and to highlight our unique environment.
These are contextualized to reflect the vision we have as a people with our unwavering commitment to harnessing our creativity and human imagination as a significant contributor towards achieving sustainable socio-economic development.
To this end, a Cabinet appointed Ministerial Committee Chaired by the Minister of Planning and the Economy and consisting of the Minister of Tobago Development, Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism, Minister of National Security, Minister of Tourism, Minister of Education, Minister of Local Government, Minister of Transport, Minister of Community Development, Minister of Sport, Minister of National Security and the Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister have been vested with the responsibility of implementing the Programme for the Commemoration and Celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s 50th Anniversary of Independence.
The initiatives supported by this Ministerial Committee include projects recommended by the High Level Expert Panel for the “Implementation of Arts, Cultural and Entrepreneurial Projects and the Patriotism Projects”, programmes planned by the public sector, and projects organized by private entities.
